Description:
Regular and predictable attendance is required. Applies knowledge of company design principles to assess and resolve product/process issues through the product lifecycle. Analyzes, conducts root cause analysis and develops dispositions for design non-conformances. Applies engineering principles to research technical, operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by customer and designs interim and final engineering solutions. Identifies documents, analyzes reported problems and communicates deviations that could impact design intent and safety; recommends and manages resolution. Develops and implements product/process improvements. Supports Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and participates in design reviews. Represents the engineering community in the build through post production environment. Ensures supplier and build partner compliance with company standards. Develops customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment. Participates in on-site disabled product repair teams and accident investigation or support team. Analyzes damage repair or structural modification to determine appropriate jacking and shoring, prevent collateral damage and assure a safe work environment. Designs interim structural repairs and conducts static strength analysis. Develops non-destructive test procedures, tools and standards. Conducts simple static strength analysis.

Describe the project/day-to-day activities they will be working on:
This position is for a level 3, Product Review (or Liaison) Engineer, in Huntsville, AL. The position is based from Mesa, AZ, but is supported directly at company's supplier.

The position requires direct engineering support for the depopulation efforts which remove previously fielded (or used) major assemblies, sub-assemblies, and detail components from AH-64 D-model Apaches for the purpose of repairing/restoring to a serviceable condition for re-use on AH-64 E-model Apaches utilizing technical/fleet service manuals.

The components vary in terms of the state of serviceability, and component type. They consist of both primary and secondary, metallic and composite bonded structures, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, flight safety related components, and armament sub-systems.

The position involves direct shop floor support, and frequent communication between the Supplier's Operations team, and Mesa's Engineering team

• Liaison Engineering Judgment
Exercises engineering judgment in developing appropriate decisions considering decision criteria, implications, and possible consequences, to ensure product design integrity. Demonstrates understanding of the applicable scientific and engineering knowledge and involves others in obtaining information for the liaison engineering decision-making process
• Liaison Repair Methodology
Knowledge of repair concepts including repair station processes, component repair concepts, procedures, and warranty processes and contractual agreements.
• Engineering Drawings & Specs
Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change, design).
• Maintenance and Retrofit
Knowledge of repair, maintenance, and retrofit processes and practices (e.g., unplanned event system, technical orders, kitting, overhaul and depot support).
• Product Review Process
Knowledge of Universal Product Review (UPR) including Material Review Authorization (MRA), Materials Review Board (MRB) processes, supplier delegated MRB processes (e.g., authorization, qualification, maintenance, disclosure), and post-production review

What are the Top 3-5 Skills PREFERRED to perform this role/job?:
1) Material Review Board experience [MRB]
2) Direct shopfloor / MRO [Maintenance Repair Overhaul facility] / Production/Manufacturing support experience
3) Rotary wing experience [operations/maintenance/field support/manufacturing] preferred

Education:
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Mechanical, Aerospace / Aeronautical, Civil, or Electrical engineering. ABET is preferred.
