Automation Engineer

Description:
This contractor will provide design, & startup support for projects at the plant. The Engineer will assist with all phases and aspects of the project as assigned. The projects assigned will vary by process area in the plant. Provide Machine Automation Design and adaptation engineering for assigned projects. Provide Contractor Management of Electrical contractor installation teams during equipment modifications & machine installations during Start-up and Commissioning. Perform Feasibility Studies based on a Functional Specification. Create project documentation: schematics, Grafcet, maintenance & operator training documents and user manuals. Interface with Plant production & maintenance customers. Outlining automation hardware migration project recommendations. Executing project automation deployment/design, implementation, start-up and support tasks on as needed basis. Start up and Commissioning of automation control systems. Analyze Control system hardware and software needs and alternatives. Specify Automation system components to meet project specifications. Design control system architecture layout, including main control elements, peripheral elements, and communications networks (Ethernet, DH, etc.). Design control panel layouts, I/O assignments, and bill of material. Design control system safety circuits. Specify wire sizing. Design power, control, I/O, and grounding circuit diagrams. Develop PLC software to meet the functional specification. Define software program modules. Confirm I/O assignments. Document Software according to defined requirements. Comply with company Panel Design Standards and Programming Standards. Attend scheduled meetings with contractors/integrators to clarify and assist specification and engineering standards. Provide panel inspection and audit on equipment that comes into the plant. Provide assistance in tracking open issues to timely closure.

Requirements
Proficient with Rockwell Hardware & Software.
Programming and integration experience with Allen Bradley products, such as ControlLogix, Kinetix 6000, FactoryTalk, PanelView Plus or GuardLogix for at least the last 5 years is required.
The engineer shall already be familiar with designing, prototyping, testing and installing PLC Programs within environment that involve communications with the plant information systems.
Able to use AutoCAD version 2008 for drafting.
