This position is responsible to provide engineering support to flight test & evaluation aircraft development programs, including: flight test data center computer systems, mission control telemetry rooms, deployment of offsite mission control rooms for offsite flight test data processing, data processing troubleshooting, and data center computer equipment upgrades and system integration. The position will also support Flight test Instrumentation for development and testing of experimental aircraft. You will be working in a team environment as you lead the instrumentation effort and support initial test operations within established flight test guidelines to achieve safe flight operations.

You Will:
• Provide Flight Test Data Center computer and sub-system hardware support 24/7
• Integrate new technologies for Flight Test Data Systems
• Work closely with software development team to validate and troubleshoot changes to data acquisition software.
• Troubleshoot a variety of real-time and post-flight data acquisition issues
• Data Center Computer System Configuration Control and System Administration
• Provide support for Offsite Flight Test Data acquisition activity to include offsite deployment planning, and setup/configuration of offsite computer systems, network link to offsite location, voice communications, offsite GPS station, offsite weather station, etc.
• Coordinate with IT on network architecture issues and offsite network solutions
• Develop, update, and maintain engineering documentation, to build a working repository of common support tasks.
• Develop group work instructions and train Data Operations personnel

Flight test instrumentation Responsibilities include:
• Design, implement, and maintain instrumentation Airborne Data Acquisition Systems (ADAS) used to condition, monitor, and record data for test objectives.
• Provide direction to Flight Test Instrumentation Technicians, Electricians, Mechanics
• Collaborate with internal disciplines, including Flight Test Hardware Integration Engineers, Flight Test Engineers, Flight Technology, Instrumentation Labs, Standards and Calibration, Aircraft Coordinators, etc.,
• Generate and update electrical drawings through CAD software

You Will Need:
• Relevant working experience with PCM data acquisition systems
• Relevant working knowledge of network protocols and network architecture
• Working experience with OpenVMS system administration
• Knowledge in the following instrumentation sensor applications: strain gages, accelerometers, pressure transducers, thermocouples, RTDs, pitot-static systems, etc.,
• Familiarity with following bus formats: 1553-B, ARINC-429, RS-232/422/485
• Familiarity with airborne data acquisition systems (Teletronics, Zodiac, Quasonix equipment a plus)
• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Draftsight, or equivalent software for creating, modifying or updating electrical drawings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, Project)

Education: BS Electrical / Electronics / Computer sciences / Instrumentation engineering or MS BS Electrical / Electronics / Computer sciences / Instrumentation engineering

Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in Aerospace field required. (Experience in Flight Test Instrumentation is a plus)
